Bluetooth and BLE

Bluetooth signal tends to be weaker and have a shorter effective range compared to WiFi and other RF. The further away from the sensor a bluetooth signal is, the more likely a that bluetooth signal strength is to fall below your HomeAware sensor’s “alert threshold.” Additionally, this is true when comparing to WiFi detection at the same distance and with the same sensitivity settings.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signal is even weaker! Therefore, it’s even more likely to fall below the “alert threshold” of your HomeAware sensor when at the same distance from the sensor as other standard bluetooth devices.
